Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $1,917 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement • Day shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, Night shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM • Must be clocked in and ready to work by 6:45 AM • Patient ratios typically 1:2, sometimes 1:1 depending on acuity, occasionally 1:3 for post cath lab patients • Minimum 2 years ICU experience required • Must be independent and comfortable with skill level • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (PALS may be negotiable depending on situation) • Work with all drips and Avea ventilators • Use MEDITECH Expanse EMR system and Pyxis charting system • Navy scrubs required • May serve as charge nurse with full patient load • Floor-specific orientation includes 2 shifts with preceptor • Expected to float to Medical, Surgical, IPRU, or ER as needed (travelers are first to float) • Care for medical ICU patients including pneumonia, sepsis, CHF, COPD, cardiac drips, post-operative patients, and some pediatric cases • Work holidays integrated into permanent staff rotation • Scheduling done 6 weeks at a time with staff input on requests Facility: This regional medical center operates a 9-bed ICU with an average daily census of 6 patients, maintaining a minimum staff of 3 nurses with some nights requiring 4 nurses. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services including post catheterization lab care, medical ICU services, and emergency care. The ICU features modern equipment including Neon Kohden monitoring systems and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy services with in-house hospitalist coverage during the day and on-call coverage at night.
