Job Summary: Amazon is looking for highly motivated students to join the Jr. Developer Program (JDP) as a Jr. Software Development Engineer. This year-round internship program allows students to write real software, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to impactful deliverables while balancing work and school. Responsibilities: • Write real software and collaborate with experienced engineers who provide guidance and opportunities for ownership. • Contribute to impactful deliverables. • Receive 1:1 mentorship from a full-time Amazonian for the entirety of your program tenure. • Participate in bi-annual performance reviews designed to support ongoing growth and development. Qualifications: Required: • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelors or Masters degree program. • Graduating June 2028 and beyond. • Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field. • Ability to work year-round until graduation (part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer). • Able to start work in June 2026. • Ability to work in person year-round at the Detroit corporate office. (This role is not offered remote or hybrid and all working hours must be in office). • Must be living within commutable distance to Detroit, MI • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object-oriented design. Preferred: • Previous technical internship(s), if applicable. • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. • Ability to solve complex problems and work through ambiguity.
