The unit includes state-of-the-art equipment and is equipped with ARJO/ceiling lifts, bike, and ocular - including in our bariatric suites. Be a part of a strong, multi-disciplinary team with on-site Intensivist coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Our team of highly engaged nurses with dedicated preceptors love to teach eager new nurses. We believe in teamwork and are a cohesive team consisting multiple disciplines. All who work together to create an environment where comprehensive whole body health care is provided to all patients and families. You will be an active member of this amazing multifaceted team. The value you'll bring to the team: Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population. Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients according to their level of understanding. Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety. Other duties as assigned.
