Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 24 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x8hrs Hours: 24 hrs/wk Start Date: Mar 30, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN for an outpatient cancer care clinic in Chicago, IL, requiring ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification and at least 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience. Details Outpatient oncology infusion clinic located within a hospital campus in Chicago, IL Adult oncology patient population; no pediatric patients Common treatments include chemotherapy administration, long-term IV antibiotics (IVABX), injections, and blood and platelet infusions Approximately 10 patients per day through the department; no chemo patients after 1400 Unit consists of 5 infusion chairs Monday through Friday schedule, 8-hour day shifts (0800–1630); clinic closes at 1530 but RNs may stay later to complete infusions No weekend rotation, no on-call or callback requirements Facility is closed on major holidays No floating required EMR: Epic (preferred but not required); IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis Requirements Active IL RN license required Current BLS certification required ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required, with most recent experience within the last year Proficiency in chemo administration, peripheral IV insertion, Port-a-Cath access, and PICC line access Ability to draw blood from ports for lab collection Strong assessment skills with comfort recognizing and responding to adverse reactions Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Additional Information Clinic support includes a shared clinic lead (between two hospital sites), patient schedulers, and 1 additional infusion RN on shift An oncologist is on site at the hospital and available to respond as needed; rapid response and hospitalist/ED coverage also available Orientation consists of a general hospital orientation plus one unit orientation shift to learn clinic workflow Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved during the contract Navy scrubs required Free parking available on site First-time travelers will be considered, though preference is given to candidates with prior travel experience American Traveler Job ID P-680493.
