Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational. Program Description: Goddard Riverside invests in people & strengthens community, serving more than 20,000 people throughout New York City with a variety of programs for all ages. We work within a social justice framework to create a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families. The Monument provides transitional housing to single adults experiencing homelessness with the goal of permanent housing. On-site services include case management, entitlement assistance, meals, recreation, and 24 hours/7 days a week front desk security and staffing. Purpose of Position: To provide oversight to Residential Aid Operations. The Residential Aide Shift Supervisor (RAS) is responsible for assuring the general welfare and safety of the residents, staff, and the facility. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Residential Aides staff. The RAS is expected to ensure quality service deliverables by supervising the daily residential services and inspections, in order to ensure that all residents' goals, targets, and performance outcomes are met on a daily/weekly/monthly basis during night and weekend shifts. The Residential Aid staff are the first welcoming face new clients are greeted by! Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (4pm-12am) Salary: $66,300 Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties Provide direct supervision to 13 Residential Aides; promote staff development, evaluate their work and initiate performance improvement plans when required. Coordinate schedules for RA's and plan coverage as needed. Lead regular staff meetings where resident issues, operations, policies, procedures, and program outcomes are discussed. Oversee evidence-based practice models including person centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach are utilized. In collaboration with the Assistant Program Director, conduct ongoing staff training on client care issues, agency policies, best practices and arrange for outside training as needed. Establish and cultivate professional and positive relationships with families. Collaborate with the Recreational Specialist to have RA staff conduct activities and co-facilitate groups. Work with Program and Assistant Program Directors to define, document, and update (as necessary) building rules for residents and work with social service staff on ensuring compliance. Oversee/conduct intakes during evenings, overnights, and weekends as needed. Stay informed on all contract requirements, ensure compliance, and assist in completion of documentation/funder reporting. Complete routine resident and facility checks to ensure that residents are not at risk and that facility management is aware of potential hazards (leaks, fire, destruction of property, etc.). Ensure compliance with all health, fire, and safety codes, ensure timely handling of all violations, prevent violations whenever possible. Oversee Goddard and Contracted staff services to ensure all post, rounds and nightly reports are being conducted in accordance with written policies. Oversee CARES intake system and ensure all clients are admitted in a timely fashion. Supervise the daily food service and serve as liaison with contracted meal provider. Flexibility in schedule, including some overnight and weekends, is required to ensure supervision is provided to all RAs across all shifts. Qualifications/Educational Requirements Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum two years of professional experience, with at least one year of experience in relevant roles (e.g., shelter operations, non-profits, operations management, community-based organization positions) Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) preferred.
