Shift Supervisor – Assisted LivingAppledorn South – Holland, MIPay $22.00–$26.00 per hour Compensation based on credentials and years of experience Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance available as outlined in the Employee Handbook Basic life and AD&D insurance provided at no cost to the employee Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (PTO) based on hours worked and years of service Eligible for a potential pay increase after 90 days based on performance Annual merit increases based on performance evaluations Paid orientation and training Additional benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook Shift Details 3rd Shift: 5:30pm–6:00am 12-hour shifts Rotating weekends and holidays Full-time position available Position PurposeThe Shift Supervisor serves as a liaison to ensure resident services are coordinated effectively and aligned with each resident’s service plan. This position works closely with the Resident Services Coordinator and Administrator to support daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality care delivery in compliance with applicable regulations. Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), CNA, or CENA with medication administration training considered Ability to maintain required licenses, registrations, CPR, and First Aid certifications Innovative and solution-focused approach to care and supervision Ability to perform essential job functions physically and mentally Essential Functions Follow and enforce company policies and procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations Communicate with family members, physicians, therapists, counselors, and other service providers as needed Communicate resident concerns and follow-up actions to the Resident Services Coordinator Ensure residents are treated with kindness and respect Protect residents from accidents and injuries and ensure safety during emergencies Participate in employee performance evaluations Supervise shift personnel and communicate staffing concerns to department managers Process and follow up on physician and healthcare provider orders Ensure compliance with physician orders and outside service provider protocols Oversee resident records, charting, and required documentation Participate in resident assessments and development of resident service plans Ensure resident service plans are followed by all staff Assist staff with new resident move-ins, including paperwork, vital signs, and documentation Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals, cleaning products, and equipment Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the living center General Responsibilities Serve as a positive ambassador for the living center Comply with Life Safety policies and emergency drills Participate in required training opportunities Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and staff across shifts Report to work on time and as scheduled Uphold Resident Rights, including confidentiality Follow Employee Handbook guidelines and infection control protocols Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull for extended periods Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English Emotional stability to support residents with chronic illness, dementia-related behaviors, and end-of-life care
