Veterinary Receptionist Bayshore Animal Clinic is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist with prior veterinary or healthcare customer service experience to join our busy, people-forward practice in Tampa, FL. This role is not entry level. The ideal candidate is confident in a fast-paced medical environment, comfortable handling high call volumes, and skilled at balancing client service with accuracy, empathy, and efficiency. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you are the first and last point of contact for our clients and their pets. You play a critical role in shaping the client experience while supporting efficient hospital operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and the ability to multitask under pressureespecially during busy appointment times or emotionally sensitive situations. Clinic Hours: MonFri: 7 AM 6 PM | Sat: 8 AM 1 PM | Sun: Closed Bayshore Animal Clinic 2812 W Gandy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33611 What You'll Be Doing Client Service & Front Desk Operations Greet clients and patients warmly, professionally, and efficiently Answer multi-line phones, manage high call volume, and schedule appointments Collect and document accurate patient histories and client information Communicate effectively with veterinarians and technicians regarding patient flow and needs Support clients through routine visits, urgent concerns, and end-of-life appointments with compassion Administrative & Financial Duties Process invoices, collect payments, and balance transactions accurately Manage prescription refill requests and over-the-counter product sales Maintain accurate client and patient records within the practice management system Ensure front desk and reception areas remain organized, calm, and welcoming Team Collaboration Coordinate closely with medical staff to support smooth daily operations Assist with appointment flow, admissions, and discharges Uphold clinic policies, procedures, and client service standards Experience & Qualifications This is not an entry-level position Minimum 12+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic, medical office, dental office, or healthcare customer service role Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, people-facing environment Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfort with computers, scheduling software, and electronic medical records Ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in emotionally charged situations Physical ability to lift up to 3050 pounds as needed Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or Client Service Representative (CSR) Familiarity with veterinary practice management software Experience handling medical records, invoicing, and insurance or estimates Confidence managing difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match ?
