Requirements: Reviews Check Requests with special attention to their accuracy and completeness. Sets up and maintains account files and records. Answers in-person and telephone inquiries from purchasing, various department heads, vendors, etc. Collects necessary data and appropriately prepares A/P forms, enters system and matches them to weekly accounting runs. Reviews status of accounts and monitors their balances. Exercises independent judgment in investigating and resolving account discrepancies. Evaluates and improves accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and compliance. Handles sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion and in accordance with organizational data protection policies. Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures and creates necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps. Understands and adheres to the Medical Center's Code of Conduct. Familiar with the Medical Center's Mission, Vision, and Values Statements. Other Duties: Performs clerical duties (e.g., photocopying) as required. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization. Position Qualifications: Minimum of one year's experience in healthcare accounts payable; two to three years preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and make informed decisions regarding financial transactions. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Typing: 25 wpm. Good oral and written communication skills. Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position. Education: High school graduation or equivalent required. Job Setting/Physical Demands: Office setting. Mainly sedentary with occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
