Job Description

AGM's Production Assembler works in a variety of different areas within AGM's Production Department, including Valve assembly, Valve testing, Desiccator assembly, Special Packaging, and Tie-Down Straps assembly. The Production Assembler is responsible for following engineering documentation, along with company policies and procedures, to assemble products that meet established quality standards. Responsibilities: Follows engineering drawings and material listsin order toassemble products asrequired. Inspects completed products to ensure all quality standards are met, per established guidelines. Operates various machinery and/or equipment that is used during the production process. Can work quickly and efficientlyin order tomaximize product output, while minimizing labor costs. Remains flexible with the ability to transition to new tasksfrequently, and with minimal adjustment time. Completes all required job documentation promptly and accurately, according to company procedures. Alwaysmaintainsa clean and safe work environment. Follows AGM's Quality Management System processes and procedures. Learns to transition to various Production areas, such as Valve assembly and testing, Desiccator assembly, Special Packaging of AGM products, and assembly of Tie-Down Straps. Other duties may be assigned by a manager from another department, as needed. Skills & Abilities: Organization & Attention to Detail:Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions provided verbally, in writing, or through diagrams. Mechanical Aptitude & Assembly Experience:Prior assembly experience in a manufacturing environment ispreferred; basic mechanical aptitude isrequired. Education Requirement:A High School Diploma or G.E.D. isrequired. Manufacturing Experience:At least one year of manufacturing experiencepreferredbut notrequired. English Communication:Musthavethe abilitytospeak, read, and write English effectively. Technical Reading & Documentation:Mustbe able to read and interpret engineering drawings, material lists, procedures, safety requirements, and work instructions, and complete basic job reports and documentation. Basic Math Skills:Ability to apply basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages) in practical situations. Measurement Skills:Ability to read a ruler and/or use a tape measure. Problem Solving & Reasoning:Ability to think logically, apply job knowledge, and interpret instructions provided in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the candidate will be required to see, speak and hear, sit and/or stand, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, including small parts and tools. Must be able to lift, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally may need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The core functions of this position will take place primarily in a manufacturing environment. The candidate will be working with moving mechanical parts and machinery. Occasionally, the candidate may be exposed to, or come in direct contact with, potentially hazardous chemicals or materials. All employees are expected to follow the proper safety procedures associated with their work area(s). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
