Job Description: Billing Specialist Organization: Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA) Website: Location: Cleveland, Ohio Reports to: Billing Manager Position Summary Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting long-term recovery and wellness through peer-based support and evidence-based services, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting agency billing operations, ensuring accurate claims submission, reimbursement monitoring, accounts payable processing, and compliance with Medicaid and other regulatory requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to agency policies and ethical standards. Accounts Payable (AP) Submit billing for processing in a timely and accurate manner Track claims submissions and resolve billing discrepancies Monitor reimbursements to ensure accurate and complete payment of claims Correspond with Medicaid and relevant regulatory entities regarding billing changes Abiding by Agency's Code of Ethics, and Policies and Procedures Manual. Process and monitor accounts payable activities Conduct the appeals process when required Verify Medicaid eligibility for outpatient clients on a weekly basis Maintain compliance with agency policies, Code of Ethics, and Procedures Manual Complete all required documentation, reports, and agency paperwork accurately and on time Ensure high-quality internal and external customer service Perform special projects and other agency-related assignments as requested Qualifications Experience in behavioral health billing or healthcare billing preferred Knowledge of Medicaid billing processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines Proficient in billing software and Microsoft Office systems Strong communication and problem-solving skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
