Dental Billing Specialist We’re hiring a Remote Dental Billing Specialist! If you have strong experience with dental claims, Dentrix, and insurance follow-ups , join our growing remote team. Position Overview The Dental Billing Specialist is responsible for managing dental insurance claims from submission through resolution. This includes posting payments, researching and following up on outstanding claims, communicating with insurance companies, submitting appeals, and documenting all findings accurately. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with both internal team members and clients. Key Responsibilities Post insurance and patient payments accurately. Submit and track electronic dental insurance claims. Research outstanding claims and follow up with insurance carriers. Contact insurance companies to resolve claim issues and payment delays. Submit claim appeals and supporting documentation when necessary. Review accounts receivable and maintain clean AR. Correct data entry errors preventing claims from processing. Clearly explain insurance benefits and reimbursement details. Document all claim research and communications in detail. Collaborate with team members and clients to resolve billing issues. Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of recent experience in the dental field. At least 5 years of recent experience using Dentrix Extensive experience submitting and following up on dental insurance claims in a dental office environment. Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and CDT coding systems. Comprehensive knowledge of medical and dental terminology. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance. Experience with electronic claims submission, electronic patient billing, and attachments. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable management and insurance reimbursement processes. Familiarity with major insurance carriers including: Aetna, CareFirst, Cigna, Delta Dental, MetLife, United Concordia, Guardian Skills & Attributes Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication Professional client interaction skills Problem-solving and analytical thinking Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Dental Specialty Experience (Preferred) Experience working with any of the following specialties is a plus: Endodontics Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Orthodontics Pediatric Dentistry Periodontics Prosthodontics Benefits Competitive pay Comprehensive health insurance for you and your family Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan FSA (Flexible Spending Account) savings plan Life insurance coverage Up to 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) Company-provided equipment to support remote work
