The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the U.S. tax team, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting, compliance, and the execution of tax strategy. This role is pivotal in supporting global strategic initiatives, transformation efforts, and tax due diligence for business opportunities. Key responsibilities include leading tax accounting and reporting, managing federal, state, and local tax return preparation, and overseeing tax forecasts and planning processes. The Head of Tax will also be instrumental in driving tax technology solutions, process improvements, and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies. Applicants for the Head of Tax position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a CPA strongly preferred, and a minimum of 15 years' of tax experience, including a background in the insurance sector. The role requires expertise in tax accounting, planning, compliance, and all major tax return types, as well as strong experience with U.S. federal and state corporate and sales tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a tax department or managing tax operations for multinational organizations, and must possess excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
