Patient Access Representative Performs all registration functions for patients. This includes collecting accurate demographic information, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, obtaining authorization/pre-certification for services provided, and collecting patient liability prior to or at the time of service. Greets and serves patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote sacred encounters. Age-Related Competencies: Ability to work with patients of all ages and explain payer benefits. Patient may require voice elevation, repetitive information and require understanding acknowledgment. Required Qualifications: 1 year Experience in a healthcare or customer service setting with proven customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training Some college and/or certificate courses. Experience in hospital registration or healthcare setting. Experience utilizing medical terminology in job setting and a basic understanding of insurance requirements. Experience with MEDITECH/A4 system.
