Credit Officer Position The Credit Officer is positioned within the Credit Department, reporting to a Senior Credit Officer, and is integral to the success of each line of business it supports, helping to drive the strategic vision set forth by Texas Capital Bank. The position will support the Asset Based Lending (ABL) Specialty line of business and is responsible for maximizing portfolio performance, providing oversight and leading deals from opportunity to close. Responsibilities To be successful in this role, the candidate must be an effective team player who is able to process large amounts of information, communicate and collaborate in a clear and concise manner, and develop innovative solutions for our clients, all while maintaining a strong and efficient attention to detail and managing multiple workstreams. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Partners with ABL origination team to provide recommendations on credit structure, borrowing base analysis, and potential risks Assesses terms under which ABL credit will be extended, including analysis of primary and secondary sources of repayment including operating cash flows, collateral valuations, accounts receivable and inventory analysis, and covenant requirements Conducts ongoing monitoring of borrowing base compliance, covenant adherence, and collateral performance Assures the integrity and proper documentation of individual credits approved as well as the assigned portfolio Acts as a responsible steward of the firm's capital, ensuring fidelity to risk management and ABL underwriting standards Ensures effective administration of ABL loan policies, programs, objectives and goals as they pertain to the firm, to include adherence to policy compliance requirements and assessment of risk ratings in an accurate and timely manner Stays informed on the latest trends and developments in ABL products, financial markets, regulatory changes, and industry best practices Expert ability to analyze and evaluate ABL credit risk, including collateral evaluation, with expert ability to escalate recommendations and influence change Expert ability to interact, negotiate, and influence at executive levels internally and externally Lead and/or support key initiatives to drive improvements in the delivery of ABL credit solutions for clients and prospects Provides leadership and development for Portfolio Management team Accompanies origination teams on client visits and collateral inspections, when needed May perform other duties as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field, required; MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent designations preferred Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in ABL credit roles with demonstrated expertise in borrowing base administration, accounts receivable and inventory analysis, and collateral management Demonstrated experience with middle-market and lower middle-market lending preferred Experience with Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and/or Healthcare ABL lending preferred, but not required Completion of a Formal Credit Training program or commensurate ABL underwriting experience Must possess a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build working relationships across the organization Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate policies, procedures and objectives effectively throughout the firm and to cultivate working relationships with banking teams and clients Must have a high level of analytical skill to assess and manage areas of responsibility including ABL collateral evaluation, determination of credit risk, and making final approval decisions Proficient in MS Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Understanding of products and services across the firm Thorough knowledge of ABL loans, principles, policies, and practices Knowledge of current ABL lending laws, regulations, and UCC filing requirements Proven leadership skills and a passion for financial services and delivering superior client experiences The duties listed above are the essential functions, or fundamental duties within the job classification.
