Job Description

Buyer II Are you a Buyer looking to take the next step in your career and expand your impact? The Buyer II plays a key role in sourcing and procuring raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods essential to the production of consumer goods. This role supports procurement activities across a complex product environment consisting of approximately 2,726 SKUs and $3 million in inventory, including materials associated with paper, wood, and related product categories. The Buyer II works closely with production, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available to meet operational demands. This role offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility in supplier management, cost optimization, and sourcing decisions while helping maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain. Procurement & Sourcing: Source and procure raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods essential to the production of consumer goods, including materials related to paper, wood, and associated product lines. Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and consistent product quality. Purchase Order Management: Issue and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, ensuring accuracy, timely fulfillment, and proper documentation within ERP systems. Inventory Management: Support purchasing activities across approximately 2,726 SKUs and $3 million in inventory, helping ensure appropriate inventory levels to meet production and customer demand. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, sales, and warehouse teams to align purchasing activities with operational needs and demand fluctuations. Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency while maintaining quality and supplier reliability. Supplier Evaluation: Identify and evaluate new suppliers and sourcing alternatives to strengthen supply chain stability and reduce procurement risk. Quality Coordination: Work with internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure materials meet product specifications and operational standards. Risk Management: Monitor supplier performance, market conditions, and lead times to proactively identify and address potential supply disruptions. Data & System Management: Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and product data within ERP and procurement systems. Market Monitoring & Reporting: Stay informed on market trends, material pricing, and supplier capabilities while reviewing and reporting on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and inventory data to support informed procurement decisions. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field; relevant certifications are preferred 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience Experience sourcing raw materials, packaging materials, or finished goods in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment preferred Experience working with domestic and international suppliers preferred Strong supplier relationship management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Experience with ERP or procurement systems preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment Strong communication and collaboration skills Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team Ability to travel to other Company locations and Vendors as needed This position could work out of either of the following locations: 557 Marcella Street, Kimberly, WI 54136 220 Lexington Green, Suite 400, Lexington, KY 40503 This position does not offer the opportunity to work remotely.
