Overview: William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a dedicated Roadway Superintendent for project work. Responsibilities: Participate in all necessary pre-job meetings. Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Area Manager to review the project scope prior to commencement. Evaluate all union contracts before union pre-jobs. Prepare the job site ahead of project initiation. Understand and review cost codes prior to project start. Foster strong working relationships with IDOT, inspectors, subcontractors, and project owners. Ensure all work meets project specifications. Coordinate all subcontractor activities on-site. Manage local union relationships effectively. Supervise all on-site employees related to assigned projects. Ensure compliance with EEO requirements and document efforts to meet those standards. Complete necessary paperwork including daily timesheets, safe cards, weekly tool box talks, onboarding documentation, daily diaries, delivery tickets, and fuel receipts. Send daily timesheets and diary notes from foremen under your supervision. Accurately enter completed quantities on a daily basis. Create a two-week look ahead schedule as per the template provided by the Project Manager. Verify that utility locates are in place before any excavation begins. Maintain tools and equipment assigned to your project. Verify completion of equipment checklists as necessary. Ensure timely availability of materials and equipment on-site. Maximize equipment utilization throughout the project. Oversee compliance with OSHA Standards and company policies in the work performed by subcontractors. Conduct tool box talks at the beginning of each work week and ensure sign-in sheets are submitted. Ensure daily completion and submission of safe cards. Perform additional work-related duties as required. Qualifications: Minimum GED or High School Diploma. At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Construction Superintendent, particularly focusing on bridges and structures.
