Estimator for Water and Wastewater Projects

Position Overview The Estimator for Water and Wastewater Projects will play a crucial role in delivering precise and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil infrastructure initiatives. We seek a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, substantial expertise in water and wastewater construction, and a knack for collaborating seamlessly with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities Thoroughly analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Prepare comprehensive quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations, and associated facilities. Solicit and critically evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Develop both conceptual and hard-bid estimates. Identify potential project risks and explore value engineering opportunities. Engage in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits. Maintain meticulous bid documentation and estimating databases. Facilitate a smooth handoff to the operations team once projects are awarded. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in water/wastewater or heavy civil construction. Robust knowledge of treatment plant construction, underground utilities, mechanical piping, and concrete structures. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools). Capability to read and interpret civil, structural, and mechanical drawings. Strong Excel skills are essential. Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
