Are you ready to work with some of the most advanced aircraft systems in the world? As an Aircraft Electronics Technician, you will play a critical role in repairing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems, ranging from radar and communications to navigation and weapon systems. This position offers opportunities to volunteer as a Naval Aircrewman, performing in-flight duties and operating radar and weapon systems. Your Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft systems, including digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar, and laser electronics. Maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems. Test and calibrate aircraft instruments and automatic flight controls. Perform micro-miniature module repairs on circuit cards. Install modifications to aircraft electronics systems. Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret electrical diagrams. Work Environment: You will have the opportunity to serve at sea and ashore worldwide. Your work may be conducted in hangars, onboard aircraft carriers, in laboratories, or outdoors on flight lines. Collaboration with other technicians is essential, and you will often work with minimal supervision in both technical and operational settings. Training & Advancement: You will begin your journey with Class A Technical School in Pensacola, FL, covering aviation theory, electrical systems, electronics theory, and essential technical skills. Upon completion, you will be assigned to AE or AT ratings and may serve at naval air stations, squadrons, or aboard carriers. There are opportunities for advanced training in specific aircraft and systems.
