Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Pelham, AL

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Tele experience, providing quality care on a busy 3 East unit. Located near Pelham, AL, this contract position offers a supportive work environment focused on delivering excellent patient outcomes. This role requires at least 2 years of RN experience, with current BLS and NIHSS (AHA) certifications. The unit manages diverse patients including medical/surgical, orthopedic, and telemetry cases, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Nurses float within their scope to like units and facilities within a 25-mile radius, offering variety and breadth of practice. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a 51-bed Med/Surg Tele unit Monitor and respond to patient conditions using telemetry, IV pumps, and Bipap equipment Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Accurately document care in the EPIC electronic medical record Adhere to safety standards and hospital protocols to optimize patient outcomes Qualifications: Valid RN licensure Minimum 2 years Med/Surg tele nursing experience preferred BLS and NIHSS (AHA) certifications required Comfortable floating to like units within a 25-mile radius Strong critical thinking and communication skills Schedule: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation No on-call requirements The work environment embraces professional dress in navy scrubs; nail polish is not permitted.
