Future Operations Analyst

Position Overview The Future Operations Analyst provides subject matter expertise to support the development, coordination, and execution of future operations within the Operations Directorate. The analyst supports operational planning processes, provides guidance to subordinate commands, and assists leadership in developing operational concepts, plans, and directives in accordance with applicable Department of Defense and service-level doctrine. Key Responsibilities: Provide operational planning support to the Operations Directorate, assisting in the development of operational plans, projects, and initiatives. Develop and maintain plans and guidance for subordinate commands and supporting organizations. Assist with the preparation and review of operational directives including: Planning Orders (PLANORDs) Operations Orders (OPORDs) Warning Orders (WARNORDs) Execute Orders (EXORDs) Support the development and review of service-level operational plans and campaign plans. Assist with operational analysis related to future operations planning, including mission planning, execution planning, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. Participate in planning events, conferences, and working groups to support operational planning processes. Provide subject matter expertise during operational planning conferences and exercises. Support the development and coordination of operational concepts and planning products that align with strategic and operational objectives. Maintain awareness of applicable policies, doctrine, and operational guidance relevant to operational planning activities. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience supporting military operational planning or equivalent government planning processes. Knowledge of joint or service-level planning doctrine and operational planning frameworks. Experience developing operational planning documents and briefing materials. Ability to coordinate planning activities across multiple organizations and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Experience supporting operations directorates or equivalent planning organizations. Familiarity with military command and control processes. Experience participating in operational planning conferences and working groups.
