The instructor will teach courses in Electrical Technology and is responsible for planning, instruction, reporting, recordkeeping, student advisement, recruitment, job placement, and program follow-up. Reporting Authority: Division Chair / Associate Dean and Dean - School of Career and Technical Education Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential job functions listed are not comprehensive and duties and responsibilities may change without notice. Teach assigned theory and laboratory courses in Electrical Technology. Use appropriate instructional methods, materials, and aids to promote effective learning. Supervise students in classroom and laboratory settings, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment. Implement and enforce accepted industry safety and sanitary standards. Maintain instructional equipment, tools, and laboratory facilities. Recommend instructional materials, textbooks, and supplies for program use. Develop, update, and implement course syllabi and curriculum materials. Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and inventory. Participate in program evaluation and curriculum improvement. Assist with student recruitment, advisement, and job placement. Establish and maintain an occupational advisory committee to ensure industry alignment. Collaborate with adjunct faculty on course content and laboratory operations. Serve as advisor or sponsor for student organizations and participate in college committees as assigned. Engage in professional development to stay current in instructional methods and industry standards. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of documented, full-time experience as a practitioner in the electrical technology field. Or High School diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of documented, full-time experience as a practitioner in the electrical technology field. The successful candidate is expected to complete an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution within three (3) years of the original hire date as a condition of continued employment. Preferred Requirements:Specialized coursework in Electrical Technology that is equivalent to a community or technical college program. Industrial electrical experience. Possession of a Master Electrician Card. Post-secondary teaching experience. Salary: ACCS Salary Schedule: D1 Sick Leave All regular full-time instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is equivalent to 7 hours per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement.
