Field Service Technician

Job Title: Service Technician Job Description The Service Technician will be responsible for reading and understanding hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics. The role requires a solid foundation in fluid power, basic computer skills, basic electricity, and mechanics. A strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and computer control systems with associated software is essential. Responsibilities Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics. Apply knowledge of fluid power, electricity, and mechanics to maintain equipment. Utilize basic computer skills for system diagnostics and control. Understand and work with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and computer control systems. Essential Skills Proficiency in pneumatics, fluid power, and hydraulics. Experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and prints. Understanding of mechanical assembly and production techniques. Familiarity with hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED; or related experience/training. Equipped with knowledge of railroad systems. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing/production shop environment, which is not climate-controlled and can be somewhat dirty with occasional smoking in the area. The work schedule for the first shift includes Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The company often retains employees beyond six months, with some staying for 2-3 years. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
