Salary: $14.90 Hourly Location : Hampstead, NC Job Type: Seasonal Employee Job Number: 20-00025 Department: Facilities and Grounds Opening Date: 03/05/2026 Closing Date: 3/19/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Position Purpose TheFacilitiesTechnician(seasonal)maintainsfacilitiesofTown-ownedpropertybyperforminggenerallabortokeeppublicareassuchasbeachaccessesandsidewalkscleanandfreeofdebris.TheFacilitiesTechnicianisalsoresponsibleforcleaningandmaintainingbathrooms andfacilities, including work on/inparks, streets, and rolling back solid waste carts at beach accesses.Thispositionrequires30-40 workhoursduringtheweek,weekends,holidays,and somenights. Duties and Responsibilities Thesedutiesandresponsibilitiesarenotintendedtobeall-inclusive.The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the Town's ongoing needs. Cleans public facilities, including beach accesses and restrooms,by sanitizing and disinfecting walls, doors, toilets, sinks, floors, and mirrors. Monitorsfluidlevels,cleansequipmentandreportsequipmentandmaintenanceneeds. Stockssuppliessuchastoilettissue,papertowels,and soapatpublicrestrooms. Removestrashfrompublictrashcansandensuresareasarekeptclearof refuse. Cleansbeachaccessesandprojectsites, includingpickinguptrash,clearingdebris,andmaintaininggrounds. Provide rollback service for solid waste containers along fixed routes. Assistswithspecialeventsbytransportingandinstallingspecialequipmentandsignage. Directstrafficand other tasksduringTownevents. Worksirregularhours, including weekends, holidays,andextendedhoursasneeded. Performsotherdutiesofasimilarnatureorlevel. Qualifications & KSA's EducationandExperience HighSchoolDiplomaor GeneralEquivalencyDiploma(GED)andtheabilitytosuccessfullyperformthe essentialdutiesandresponsibilitiesofthejob,suchasthoselistedabove.Must be 18 (eighteen) years of age. LicensesandProfessionalCertifications • ValidNCDriver'sLicense Knowledge,Skills,andAbilities Knowledgeofgeneralmaintenancetechniquesrelatedtoassignment, cleaning products and procedures, safety requirements, equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in maintenance and repair activities,pruningand trimming techniques, grass varieties and care techniques,andcleaningmaterials. Skilledindrivingavehicle, using hand and power tools, spreading grass seed, removing weeds, transporting equipment and small engine repair, operating cleaning equipment, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, and communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, thegeneral public, etc.,sufficienttoexchangeorconveyinformationandtoreceiveworkdirection. AbilitytorepresenttheTownprofessionally and respectfullywhileinteractingwithdiverseindividualswithintheworkplaceandthecommunity. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Employee isgenerally exposedto outdoor conditions and may befrequentlyexposed to weatherelements,includingrain,wind,varyingtemperatures,etc.Inaddition,theemployeemusteffectivelydealwithpersonaldanger,whichmayincludeexposuretohazardouschemicalsand materials,fumesandsmoke,intenseheat,electricalhazards,confinedorhighworkplaces,dangerousanimals,extremelyloudnoises,hazardsofworkinginandneartraffic,andnaturaland man-madedisasters.Employees arealsosubjecttoinsideenvironmentalconditionshavingthelighting,temperature,and noiseofanopenfloor-planoffice environment. Theemployeemustread, write,andinteractwithothersinperson,overthephone,andviaotherdevices.Travelisrequireddailytooutsidesitestoperformthedutiesdescribedaboveandattend meetings, training,events,andotherbusinessactivities.Workmayrequirewalking,standing,bending,crouching,crawling,lifting,carrying,and/ormovingequipment,pushing,and pulling various objects, climbing stairs and ladders, andoperatingassigned equipment,includingmotorvehicles.Mustbeabletoperformmediumtoheavyworkexertingupto75poundsofforceoccasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of forcefrequently,and/orupto10poundsofforceconstantlytomoveobjects.
