Construction Administrative Accounting Manager Join a rapidly scaling specialty contractor that has tripled revenue in the past three years and is now targeting the next leap in growth. Backed by an energetic leadership team and a culture of accountability, the company delivers high-profile roofing and exterior projects across Arizona while preparing for private-equity partnership. They are building out an internal "center of excellence" for finance, HR, and administration - and this role will take the lead. This Role Offers: Influence the financial playbook at a $30M-plus contractor tracking toward $60M and beyond. Build the accounting and admin function almost from scratch, laying processes and systems that scale. Direct exposure to the CEO, COO, and bankers driving the upcoming equity event. Fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where new ideas turn into action quickly.. Focus: Leadership & Culture Lead, manage, and hold accountable a small on-site AP specialist plus two remote billing staff. Instill a disciplined, metrics-driven mindset using weekly scorecards and clear KPIs. Champion process improvement and change management as the business professionalizes. Core Accounting Own month-end close, bank and credit-card reconciliations, intercompany allocations, and WIP schedules. Produce timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow) and actionable variance analysis. Drive job-cost accuracy, revenue recognition, and margin reporting for multi-site construction projects. Forecasting & Strategic Finance Build 13-week cash-flow models, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts tied to revenue targets. Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness in anticipation of PE diligence. Coordinate tax planning and external CPA relationships; monitor bonding, insurance, and compliance risks. HR & Administration Oversee bi-weekly payroll, employee onboarding, and transition of field staff from 1099 to W-2. Keep handbooks, safety logs (OSHA 300), and certificates of insurance up to date. Guide benefits research and implementation as headcount expands. Skill Set: 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, ideally within commercial or specialty construction. Proven command of job costing and project accounting in QuickBooks Online or similar ERP. Hands-on experience with payroll, HR policy administration, and multi-state compliance. Track record of building or overhauling processes in businesses > $25 M revenue. High-accountability mindset, able to pivot quickly and thrive amid rapid change. Preferred Exposure to private-equity environments or M&A readiness. Familiarity with construction CRMs or project-management tools (e.g., AccuLynx, Procore). Prior responsibility for insurance renewals, safety program metrics, or workers-comp audits.
