Salary and Benefits: Base Salary: GL-9/GS-11: $63,148 - $120,145 per year. Location Pay: Varies by duty location. Overtime Pay: Up to 25%. This position allows for career progression from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12 with promotions occurring upon successful completion of specified requirements. Additionally, you can select from a comprehensive range of federal benefits, including health insurance, annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, comparable to traditional and ROTH 401(k) plans. Incentives: Recruitment Incentive: Up to $20,000, with $10,000 awarded after completing the Border Patrol Academy and an additional $10,000 for accepting prioritized locations. Retention Incentive: Eligible for up to $40,000 distributed over the first four years. Duties and Responsibilities: As a BPA, you will be instrumental in: Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws. Preventing and apprehending illegal immigrants and smugglers. Conducting surveillance and utilizing advanced technology during operations. Patrolling borders and coastal waterways with a variety of equipment. Qualifications: GL-9: One year of specialized experience in law enforcement duties, such as: Performing searches for contraband and evidence. Apprehending individuals violating laws. Proficiently using firearms and preparing investigative reports. GS-11: One year of experience in a law enforcement role with a focus on: Utilizing intelligence to track illegal operations. Leading criminal investigations. Making arrests and exercising sound judgment in law enforcement situations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with three years of primary residency to qualify, and candidates must apply before reaching their 40th birthday per law enforcement retirement provisions.
