Additionally, you can select from a comprehensive range of federal benefits, including health insurance, annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, comparable to traditional and ROTH 401(k) plans. Incentives: Recruitment Incentive: Up to $20,000, with $10,000 awarded after completing the Border Patrol Academy and an additional $10,000 for accepting prioritized locations. Retention Incentive: Eligible for up to $40,000 distributed over the first four years. Duties and Responsibilities: As a BPA, you will be instrumental in: Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws. Preventing and apprehending illegal immigrants and smugglers. Conducting surveillance and utilizing advanced technology during operations. Patrolling borders and coastal waterways with a variety of equipment. Qualifications: GL-9: One year of specialized experience in law enforcement duties, such as: Performing searches for contraband and evidence. Apprehending individuals violating laws. Proficiently using firearms and preparing investigative reports. GS-11: One year of experience in a law enforcement role with a focus on: Utilizing intelligence to track illegal operations. Leading criminal investigations. Making arrests and exercising sound judgment in law enforcement situations.
