JOB SUMMARY Join our team as a Vehicle Repair Technician, where you will play a crucial role in bringing vehicles back to their pre-accident condition. Utilize your skills to perform high-quality repairs in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out repairs on damaged vehicles by utilizing technical information sheets and adhering to Advanced Process Solutions (APS) guidelines based on repair orders (RO). Assess whether to repair or replace components, factoring in safety, cost, and time efficiency. Disassemble interior elements, accessories, and trim to access vehicle components for effective repair. Perform structural repairs, replace airbags, and execute specific mechanical tasks. Engage in sheet metal welding and finishing processes to restore vehicle integrity. Use power and hand tools to refine repaired surfaces through filing, grinding, and sanding. Collaborate closely with the Production Manager and Estimators to provide updates on repair status and any additional needs. Meet CARSTAR's standards for technician efficiency and cycle time while ensuring timely vehicle delivery. Utilize all necessary safety equipment and comply with proper repair protocols and hazardous waste disposal regulations. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are returned to designated places. Adhere to CARSTAR's quality control protocols and participate in inspections to uphold repair standards. Perform tasks safely to prevent injuries to yourself and others. Engage in daily meetings to discuss workload and project progress. Undertake other related duties as assigned to support team objectives. EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS 2-5 years of experience in auto body collision repair is essential. High School diploma or GED is required; graduation from a collision technology program is a plus. I-CAR certification or ASE training is mandatory. I-CAR welding and ASE Structural (B4) certification is highly desired. Experience with frame and measuring equipment is required. Ability to function both independently and in a collaborative team environment. Highly organized with exceptional multitasking capabilities. Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required. Personal tools in working order are a must for this role. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Key physical elements of the role include: The ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and squat as part of repair duties. Capacity for long periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping. Able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 80 lbs). Manual dexterity and coordination necessary to operate equipment effectively. Ability to stand, sit, and walk while performing repetitive motions during repairs. WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential exposure to: Paint, fumes, and particles. Dirt and dust. Chemicals and toxins. Extreme temperatures. Noise variations. Responsibilities and experience requirements may vary based on company needs.
