Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel RN – Level IV NICU – Madison, WI Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Starts 04/06/2026) Shift: Day (07:00 – 19:30) or Night (19:00 – 07:30) | 3x12-Hour Shifts Job Summary A Magnet®-designated facility and home to a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center, is seeking an elite Neonatal ICU Nurse. This 26-bed Level IV NICU is the highest acuity unit in the region, caring for neonates with complex surgical, cardiac, and neurological needs. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide life-saving interventions for micro-preemies (born Key Responsibilities Advanced Neonatal Life Support: Manage critically ill neonates requiring high-frequency ventilation, Nitric Oxide (iNo), and NAVA. Surgical & Cardiac Care: Provide pre- and post-operative care for complex surgeries (abdominal, thoracic, musculoskeletal) and interventional cardiac catheterizations. Neurocritical Interventions: Manage infants with brain injuries or seizures using aEEG monitoring and whole-body cooling (Arctic Sun). Complex Anomaly Management: Care for infants with Gastroschisis, Omphalocele, and Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). Critical Access & Lines: Expertly manage UAC/UVC lines, arterial lines, and peripheral IV access in tiny patients. Developmental Care: Implement neuro-protective and family-centered developmental care strategies to enhance long-term outcomes. Requirements & Qualifications Experience:Minimum 2 years of total NICU experience. Hard Requirement: At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience. Technical Testing: Must pass a mandatory Pediatric Telemetry Exam prior to start (100% identification of V-fib, V-tach, Asystole, and Sinus Bradycardia). EMR: Epic experience is required (preferred within the last 12 months). Licensure: Active Wisconsin or Compact RN License must be in hand at submittal. Certifications:BLS (AHA Only) – Required. NRP – Required. PALS – Preferred. Unit & Facility Details Unit: 26-bed Level IV NICU (PN8). Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity. Location: Madison, WI 53792.
