Summary This role is critical for providing exceptional respiratory care through thorough patient assessments, diagnostics, therapeutics, and education. Services will be delivered in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Department Overview: The Respiratory Therapy team provides both treatment and diagnostic patient care services for a wide range of patients, including critical and non-critical cases. We cater to all age groups using the latest evidence-based techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Qualifications: Must hold current registration from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC-RRT). A valid state Respiratory Care License is required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification is mandatory upon hiring. ACLS certification should be obtained within 90 days of hire. Preferred: Two years of clinical experience in Respiratory Care. PALS certification is needed within 90 days of hire. NRP certification required within six months of hire. Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of patient care, including the ability to assist and care for a diverse patient population effectively. Strong communication skills for both written and verbal information exchange. Excellent time management skills to organize, plan, and complete tasks efficiently. Ability to handle conflict resolution in a constructive manner. Social perceptiveness to work sensitively with various populations. Proficient in medical terminology and the ability to interpret related policies, procedures, and regulations. Physical Demands: This role may involve: Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Regular walking and standing, as well as the ability to perform tasks involving manual dexterity. Engaging in tasks requiring physical endurance and flexibility such as squatting, bending, and reaching. This position requires a combination of physical stamina and the ability to handle diverse patient needs efficiently. The Respiratory Therapist will serve at Samaritan Health Services.
