Description: Job Title: Manufacturing Technician AY Pump Division Location: AY Pump Facility 1809 Adel Street Suite 110, Janesville, WI Division: Baker Water Systems AY Pump Product Line Reports To: Production Supervisor Position Summary The Manufacturing Technician plays a crucial role in supporting both production assembly and material flow operations in our AY Pump Division. You will be responsible for constructing booster pump systems while ensuring precise inventory management, shipping, receiving, and internal material distribution. This dynamic position incorporates mechanical assembly, basic electrical work, and warehouse coordination to uphold efficient manufacturing operations and guarantee on-time product delivery. Key Responsibilities Pump Assembly & Production Assemble packaged water booster systems, including pumps, motors, piping, valves, controls, and base skids. Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds. Perform basic wiring and setup of control panels and variable frequency drives (VFDs) as needed. Conduct pressure testing, alignment checks, and quality inspections. Document production work and maintain updated assembly records. Report any quality issues or discrepancies to the lead or Operations Manager. Assist in new product introductions and process enhancements. Keep workstations clean and organized. Safely utilize hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment. Material Control & Inventory Pick, pull, stage, and distribute materials using Epicor ERP. Maintain high inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts. Organize storage areas to promote safety and efficiency. Support the production team ensuring material availability. Shipping & Receiving Receive and examine inbound shipments. Verify quantities and documentation accuracy. Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments. Complete necessary shipping paperwork and labeling. Equipment Operation & Safety Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment. Perform basic upkeep of equipment (charging/fueling). Adhere to PPE requirements and safety procedures. Maintain organized production and warehouse environments. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, plumbing, or pump installation. 2+ years of experience in forklift operation and warehouse or material control. High school diploma or GED. Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams. Proficient in using hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, and movement required. Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Willingness to work in environments with noise and moving equipment. Compliance with PPE requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with pumps, valves, water systems, or controls. Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or similar). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, and movement. Work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. Exposure to noise and moving equipment. PPE required at all times.
