Join our Psychiatry Unit at St. Alexius Medical Center, where you'll provide vital care to patients facing mental health challenges. This is an incredible opportunity to apply your skills in a specialized setting, advocate for patients, and grow your career within a supportive and multidisciplinary team. What You'll Do: As an RN on our Psychiatry Unit, you will: Deliver Specialized Patient Care: Utilize the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to develop and implement comprehensive, individualized care plans for patients on the Psychiatry Unit, focusing on optimal mental health outcomes. Provide Education & Support: Offer essential education and emotional support to patients, families, and co-workers, empowering them with knowledge and coping strategies. Ensure Safety & Compliance: Rigorously adhere to all hospital policies, infection control protocols, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations to maintain a safe and healing environment. Collaborate & Delegate: Work seamlessly with the Clinical Coordinator and the entire healthcare team, respectfully delegating tasks based on staff competencies and fostering strong interdepartmental relationships. Maintain Accurate Documentation: Chart all patient care services thoroughly and compliantly in patient and department records, upholding HIPAA regulations. Uphold Professional Standards: Ensure all care meets the high standards of St. Alexius Medical Center and complies with the ND State Board of Nursing and the ND Nurse Practice Act. Job RequirementsWhat We're Looking For (Qualifications): Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an approved school of nursing. Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Dakota. Experience: Previous experience in psychiatric nursing is beneficial, but we welcome applications from dedicated RNs, including new graduates, who possess a strong desire to specialize in mental health. Qualities: Exceptional empathy, strong communication and de-escalation skills, attention to detail, a commitment to patient advocacy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a sensitive and dynamic environment.
