Join a critical team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring the operational excellence of Naval submarines and aircraft carriers. As a Nuclear Operations Specialist, you will engage in vital hands-on roles essential to the capabilities of our fleet, including the operation of nuclear propulsion machinery and maintenance of various advanced systems. Key Responsibilities: Machinist's Mate Nuclear (MMN): Operate and maintain steam turbines and other auxiliary machinery essential for nuclear propulsion, including systems like turbogenerators and pumps. Perform maintenance on various auxiliary equipment and engage in operations within nuclear propulsion plants. Electrician's Mate Nuclear (EMN): Manage the operation of electrical power generation systems aboard Navy ships, including installation and troubleshooting of electrical circuits and equipment. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the electrical integrity of submarines and aircraft carriers. Electronics Technician Nuclear (ETN): Conduct maintenance on electronic systems vital to nuclear reactor operations. This includes calibrating control systems and supporting the fission process that generates steam for propulsion. Work Environment: Whether deployed at sea or stationed ashore, you will experience an intense and fast-paced environment, with opportunities for hands-on engagement in the operation of cutting-edge nuclear technology. Training & Advancement: Upon completing basic Recruit Training, you will receive specific technical training related to your role. Specialized training includes courses in Machinist's Mate Nuclear, Electrician's Mate Nuclear, or Electronics Technician Nuclear, each followed by advanced nuclear training at Naval Nuclear Power School. Continued professional development and promotion opportunities are available based on performance, providing pathways to valuable credentials in the field. Qualifications: A high-school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
