ABOUT: The Navy's Advanced Electronics / Computer Field (AECF) offers exceptional training in various high-tech disciplines, including electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control technology. As a Fire Control Specialist (FC), you will play a vital role in the ship's Combat Systems department, ensuring mission readiness across the fleet. Responsibilities: Maintain and repair critical radar, communication, and navigation equipment. Operate, maintain, and repair advanced fire control radars, mainframe computers, large display systems, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automated gun systems. Troubleshoot electro-mechanical components within sophisticated weapons systems. Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface vessels. Work Environment: As a Fire Control Specialist, you will serve worldwide on deployed ships as well as at shore-based technical facilities. The position is hands-on, highly technical, and demands precision, problem-solving abilities, and strong teamwork. Your assignments may take you aboard ships, to remote locations, or to specialized repair shops.
