Job Description

Collaborate with unit director, nursing professional development director and clinical staff to manage, assess and enhance the provision of patient care services within the assigned unit on a 24/7 basis to meet continuous quality improvement, customer service, programmatic growth and financial requirements supporting Seattle Children's mission. Support the transition of nurses and other team members across practice environments and professional stages through onboarding and orientation, competency management and role development. Use educational design processes to address knowledge, skill and practice gaps at the individual and team levels. Evaluate clinical and professional performance and provide coaching and performance management in collaboration with unit and/or department leaders. Provide leadership through continuous process improvement and support program development, organizational mission/vision/values and strategic priorities. Work collaboratively to support nursing quality, patient safety and health within defined patient populations. Relocation assistance offered for qualifying external applicants! Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in nursing. A master's degree in nursing may be substituted provided the incumbent also possesses a bachelor's degree in another field. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in related specialty. Experience with education, professional development and/or teaching in a clinical learning environment. Demonstrated people leadership experience. Required Credentials Current Washington State RN license required upon hire. National certification in a clinical specialty area must be obtained within three years of employment. A copy of bachelor's degree in nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of bachelor's degree (or higher) in nursing is to be on record with People Operations upon hire. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), or Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS. PEARS or PALS certification required within 3 months. PEARS or PALS instructor certification obtained within 12 months. For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency for evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency. Preferred Master of science in nursing (MSN) or related field. Leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in clinical education program development. Demonstrated experience with continuous quality improvement principles. Current nursing professional development practitioner (NPDP) experience. Compensation Range $129,992.00 - $194,988.00 per year Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
