Our delivery drivers ensure that customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition, while also building lasting relationships with our clients! The CDL-A Driver is tasked with operating a tractor trailer or straight truck to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and promptly, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring that questions are answered accurately and promptly. Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, and execute any assigned duty to best serve the company. Conduct all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip), inspecting the tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations; ensure they meet company safety standards and take necessary actions. Report all safety issues and required repairs immediately. Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety driving guidelines and policies. Identify and report safety hazards; inspect cargo for proper loading and securement. Perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products. Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly. Assist in moving the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule. Unload products from the trailer and transport them into designated customer storage areas. Conduct damage control checks on items; scan and inform supervisors about removed orders per company policy. Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain the necessary signatures. Collect payments (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer while securing trailer doors. Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured at all times. Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bringing them to the driver check-in and completing necessary paperwork. Maintain cleanliness and order in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as needed. At shift’s end, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 6+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be 21 years of age or older Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass a post-offer drug test Pass a road test Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheelers, lift gates, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift; products generally range from 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location.
