As a Military Nurse, you will work alongside talented colleagues united by a mission to lead, educate, and influence health care policy. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Provide high-quality nursing care in various settings, including military treatment facilities and aboard ships. Engage in humanitarian efforts, delivering emergency care and vaccinations in developing countries or disaster-affected areas. Collaborate extensively with physicians, surgeons, and fellow nurses as respected equals. YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT: As a Military Nurse, your assignment could include: Over 250 Navy medical facilities globally, including renowned centers like the National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD; Portsmouth, VA; and San Diego, CA. Medical support aboard hospital ships like the USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. Active service in unique environments, be it on land, at sea, or during deployments. TRAINING AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES: Upon commissioning, you will undergo a five-week Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI, covering all aspects of military responsibilities and leadership. Advancement opportunities are abundant and performance-based. EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS: For High School Students: Apply for the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Nurse Option scholarship, covering up to $180,000 in tuition at accredited nursing programs. For Nursing Students: Join the Nurse Candidate Program (NCP) for an initial $10,000 grant and a monthly stipend of $1,000 for up to 24 months. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a U.S. citizen and currently practicing nursing in the U.S. Must be a student or graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program, licensed to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction. Willingness to commit to a minimum of three years of active duty. Aged between 18 and 41 and in good physical health, passing all medical examinations.
