Position SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services required to support automotive manufacturing operations, including injection molding environments. This role ensures continuity of supply, competitive pricing, and strong supplier performance while partnering closely with internal teams to support production and business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase raw materials, components, and indirect goods to support manufacturing and production needsIdentify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are metNegotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliersCreate, manage, and track purchase orders and supplier commitmentsWork closely with production, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align purchasing activities with operational needsMonitor inventory levels and support efforts to balance supply availability with inventory targetsAddress supplier performance issues related to quality, delivery, or costMaintain accurate purchasing records and system dataSupport cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement effortsQualifications5-10 years of Buyer or Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior experience in automotive manufacturing and/or plastic injection moldingStrong negotiation and supplier management skillsExperience working in a fast paced production environmentProficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office toolsStrong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
