About the Role: Medical emergencies can arise at any moment, and we need dedicated professionals ready to respond. As a Healthcare Technician, you will play a vital role in various settings, whether on land or at sea, by applying your advanced medical training to save lives. You will be entrusted with the well-being of those who protect our country, ensuring they receive necessary care. Responsibilities: Deliver emergency medical treatment to military personnel, including SEALs, Marines, and Seabees. Provide emergency dental care and perform tasks like constructing dental crowns and processing X-rays. Act as an operating room technician across various surgical procedures. Administer comprehensive preventive care and medications, including immunizations and IV fluids. Maintain accurate patient treatment records and conduct clinical tests. Specializations in Advanced Technical Field: Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC): Offer advanced medical and operational support for Marine reconnaissance and special operations. Search and Rescue Medical Technician (SMT): Rescue and provide emergency care from helicopters, and support various evacuation operations. Deep Sea Diving Medical Technician (DMT): Assist in the prevention and treatment of diving-related medical issues and operate diving equipment. Work Environment: Your work as a Healthcare Technician will take you across diverse environments. Whether in a naval hospital or an aircraft carrier, you will support and collaborate with other medical professionals to deliver top-notch care. Training & Advancement: After Boot Camp, you will undergo 14 weeks of specialized training to prepare you for various medical responsibilities. Opportunities for advanced medical skills training are abundant, leading to hands-on experience in key healthcare areas. Post-Service Opportunities: Your service will pave the way for a successful healthcare career, offering training and experience relevant to civilian roles. Education Opportunities: Through Navy training, you can earn credits towards a degree and access various educational benefits. Qualifications & Requirements: Candidates must have U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, normal color perception, and vision correctable to 20/20. Additional requirements include being under 28 years of age, agreeing to a six-year enlistment, and passing a physical screening test.
