Job Title: Actuary for Cyber and Executive Risk Pricing Division: Finance - Actuarial Reports To: Lead Pricing Actuary - Cyber & Executive Risks Key Relationships: Underwriters, business managers, Beazley actuaries, claims managers, data management and ceded reinsurance teams, regulators, external actuaries, brokers. Job Summary: This role focuses on actuarial pricing for the Cyber Risks Division and Executive Risks classes within the Specialty Risks Division at Beazley. Key Responsibilities: Technical Provide essential pricing support to the Cyber & Executive Risks underwriting teams, which includes: Developing pricing tools that assist with estimating price adequacy and rate changes. Conducting portfolio and transactional pricing analyses. Executing segmental and trend analyses. Monitoring performance through metrics such as rate changes and price adequacy. Developing, maintaining, and reviewing pricing models to meet required standards. Contributing to the preparation of reports for key committees as necessary. Offering training to underwriters on technical pricing and rate change requirements. Understanding and supporting underwriting controls related to pricing and applicable regulatory principles. Applying the pricing quality assurance process effectively. Assisting with additional projects undertaken by the actuarial team, such as liability transfer valuations and business planning analyses. Fostering teamwork by collaborating with colleagues to achieve overall team and business objectives. Enhancing your technical pricing skills and experience. Providing support and mentoring to junior team members. Staying updated on industry best practices, new initiatives, and changes in regulatory requirements. Building constructive working relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborating with underwriters, exposure management, claims managers, and data teams to ensure quality data usage for pricing while capturing necessary data from pricing tools for future enhancements. Maintaining pricing model documentation regularly and obtaining appropriate managerial sign-offs. Identifying and contributing to enhancements in pricing processes and methodologies. Engaging in professional training for technical and career development, including pursuing actuarial qualifications where applicable. Personal Specification: Essential Criteria: Actuarial qualification. Experience in pricing, with specialty (re)-insurance market knowledge preferred. Strong grasp of actuarial/statistical techniques for pricing purposes. Understanding of reinsurance and capital as related to pricing. Education and Qualifications: University degree in Mathematics or a related field. Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of commercial and financial principles. Proficiency in MS Excel; skills in VBA, Access, Python, SQL, and R are advantageous. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; accuracy and numeracy are critical. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. A collaborative team player, capable of working independently. Ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
