Role Overview: As an essential part of the food supply chain, our delivery drivers guarantee that customers receive their products on time and in perfect condition. You will represent our company and build strong relationships with clients. The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck for local, regional, and over-the-road (OTR) deliveries, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products. Key Responsibilities: Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues to promptly address inquiries. Work collaboratively as a team member, taking on various duties to support the organization. Conduct mandatory safety inspections of the vehicle and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations. Report safety-related issues and maintain required repairs. Follow all DOT regulations and company safety driving policies strictly. Immediately identify and report safety hazards; ensure proper loading and securement of freight. Verify and count items loaded for delivery against customer invoices. Accurately complete necessary documentation related to freight. Position the tractor at the loading dock and connect preloaded trailers as required. Deliver customer orders following a predefined route schedule. Unload products at customer locations and place them in specified storage areas. Inspect items for damages and address any inventory discrepancies according to company procedures. Confirm deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Handle cash or check payments as needed; secure returns and properly close trailer doors. Ensure continuous security of the tractor, trailer, and freight. Process damaged goods and returns according to company policy. Complete daily service hour logs in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. Maintain cleanliness of tractor and loading dock areas. At the end of shifts, secure all equipment and finalize required paperwork. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience. Valid CDL-A license is required. Must be at least 21 years old. Compliance with all relevant state licensing and certification requirements. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the last 3 years. Pass a post-offer drug test and background check. Successfully complete a road test. Possess a valid DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one. Able to lift and move products weighing between 10-90 pounds using appropriate equipment.
