Overview: SimVentions is seeking a skilled Offensive Cybersecurity Penetration Tester to join our team! As a vital member of our organization, you will conduct penetration testing and lead offensive cybersecurity operations for U.S. Government and DoD systems. Collaborating closely with Blue Team and cybersecurity experts, you will work to strengthen our clients' overall cyber defenses. Note: This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, anticipated in October 2026. Travel: Minimal Security Clearance: An ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility is mandatory. Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is necessary to secure clearance. Requirements: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in software engineering related to program development, modeling, and simulation applied to DoD or Information Technology systems. Proficient with both Linux and Windows environments. Strong working knowledge of common Penetration Testing tools, including Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, and Cobalt Strike. Experience in Red Team operations. Tool/Software Development experience, including exploits/malware, C2, reverse engineering, and bug bounties. Programming skills in Python, C, C#, C++, Go, Perl, and PowerShell. Experience in web development and web application penetration testing. Familiarity with NSX, vCenter, vRealize Suite, Horizon View, and other technologies. Understanding of PAN-OS, FirePower, Nexus, IOS, and ASA. Knowledge of ONTAP and SnapMirror. Experience with Active Directory and cloud identity management solutions like Entra ID (Azure AD). Automation skills using PowerShell, PowerAutomate, and Logic Apps. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 in hybrid environments. Experience managing identities and access in Microsoft Entra ID. Red Team operations experience in an MDE environment. Experience in AWS, Cloud Audit, and Microservices Architecture. Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, S3, KMS, and RDS, and security best practices for these services. Experience with penetration testing for web services (RESTful and SOAP) and web authentication protocols like OAuth2, SAML, and LDAP. Skills in programming languages such as PHP, ASP, SQL, Java, HTML, and NoSQL. Possession of at least one of the following certifications: Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP. Minimum certification as a penetration tester, holding one of the following: OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, OSWP, GPEN, GWAPT, GXPN, or relevant SANS certifications. Experience as a Capture the Flag (CTF) participant or producing Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE). Responsibilities: Debug and reverse engineer software. Analyze Windows Events and Linux syslogs, boot logs, and dmesg logs. Program and debug web applications and scripts in multiple languages. Recommend software modifications to mitigate vulnerabilities. Administer various computer systems including HP-UX, UNIX, Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows. Identify security flaws in both compiled and human-readable code. Implement NSA approved encryption technologies and apply DISA STIGs. Utilize virtual hosting and server technology in system architecture. Participate in code reviews and perform static source code analysis. Contribute to the development of a System Security Administrator and Operators Manual (SSAOM). Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Compensation: Salary will be influenced by various factors including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, and skills. The estimated annual compensation range for this position is $90,000-$150,000 (USD).
