Customer Sales RepresentativePlacement Type:Contract-to-Hire (6 Months) Location:Onsite - Watertown, South Dakota 57201 Pay Range:$20.00-$23.00/hr Expected Start Date:March 2, 2026 About the RoleWe are seeking aCustomerSales Representativeto join a growing team during an exciting expansion period. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer-centric environment, enjoys problem-solving, and values a fun, hardworking team atmosphere. You will play a key role in supporting customers, managing orders, recommending products, and ensuring an exceptional service experience. Key ResponsibilitiesProfessionally respond to customer inquiries received via phone, email, fax, EDI, walk-ins, and communication from sales associates. Recommend and source profitable products using internal inventory first, then supplier inventory as needed. Review open customer orders and pending quotes to ensure timely responses and ontime delivery. Communicate service disruptions, customer feedback, approvals needed, corrective actions, and escalations to management. Balance company policy with customer benefit to resolve issues in the best interest of both parties. Maximize profitability through supplier chargebacks, identifying pricing opportunities, and promoting profitable product options. Gain product and system knowledge to support customers and connect them with supplier engineering resources when necessary. Continuously develop skills through systems training, product learning, and adoption of company initiatives. Identify and recommend process improvements based on customer feedback and quality metrics. Perform warehouse duties including pulling/packing orders, receiving, cycle counting, stocking, and occasional product delivery. Participate in afterhours emergency service rotation as scheduled. Provide backup support to team members as needed and perform other duties assigned by management. Required Skills & Qualifications6+ months customer service experience High school diploma or equivalent Mechanical and mathematical aptitude Strong communication and organizational skills Quick learner with ability to adopt new systems/processes Strong computer skills, especially Excel Ability to sit/stand for long periods and lift 25 lbs. regularly (up to 50 lbs. occasionally) Preferred QualificationsSAP experience in a customer service environment Knowledge of industrial products and hydraulics Ability to use calipers to measure industrial parts High integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction Clear, professional verbal and written communication Friendly, patient, and positive attitude Detail-oriented with strong listening skills Strong work ethic and team-first mentality Why You'll Love Working HereRelaxed, smalltown atmosphere Team that enjoys having fun while working hard Strong emphasis on ethics and teamwork Supportive leadership and structured service team Part-time GM CSR team including longterm staff Two outside sales reps supporting regional territories One warehouse associate This position is open due tocontinuedgrowthwithin the business, offering long-term opportunity and stability.
