Job Description Commercial Superintendent - Traveling (Chicago-Based) A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Commercial Superintendent with 5+ years of experience managing diverse commercial construction projects. This role is ideally based in the Chicago area, with the expectation of regional travel as projects require. Project Types: Ground-up and interior commercial projects across sectors such as retail, light industrial, healthcare, education, and mixed-use. Travel Expectations: Candidates should be open to traveling for project assignments lasting 3+ months at a time Typical travel locations include Tennessee and Indiana Travel support and accommodations will be provided Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily on-site operations from mobilization through closeout Coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and site logistics Maintain safety standards and quality control across all phases Partner with Project Managers to ensure schedule and budget alignment Lead site meetings and maintain strong communication with clients and trade partners Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent Experience managing multiple trades on ground-up and/or renovation projects Strong scheduling and leadership skills Willingness to travel for extended project durations OSHA certification preferred Compensation: Base salary around $100K, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates Travel package and additional project-related incentives available This is a strong opportunity for a Superintendent who enjoys running diverse projects and is open to regional travel while maintaining a primary base in the Chicago market.
