Payroll Specialist – Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations and ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing across the organization. This role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for managing payroll data, coordinating payroll processing, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.Key Responsibilities• Collect and review payroll information including hours worked, PTO, garnishments, benefit deductions, and retirement contributions• Monitor and review timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and completeness• Partner with department supervisors to resolve missing or incorrect time entries• Prepare and submit biweekly payroll data to the payroll processing system• Process manual checks and handle payroll adjustments when needed• Assist with paycheck and pay stub distribution• Prepare and upload biweekly 401(k) contribution files and process HSA contributions• Maintain payroll records and update employee information such as pay rate changes• Review weekly hours submitted by external staffing agencies• Generate payroll reports for internal management review• Support employee inquiries related to payroll in a timely and professional manner• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations• Assist with 401(k) and social compliance audits and coordinate with external auditors• Work closely with HR to support overlapping payroll and HR processes• Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee informationPay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledMilitary connected talent encouraged to applyTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Massachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
