About the Job The Maintenance Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, facility systems, and property structures to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This role supports the shop floor by minimizing downtime and maintaining equipment performance in an injection molding facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment used in the injection molding industry (to include Molding machines, Material dryers and loading systems, Grinding equipment, Thermolators, etc.) and related services, maximizing production time and minimizing down time. Rebuilds machines and overhauls troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts. Assists to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion. Complete assigned projects as directed. Performs all assigned preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery and the building and grounds. Orders parts and supplies as needed. Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment. Oversee contractors when outside sources are necessary. Works as a team member and participates in N-K's Total Productive Management. (TPM) efforts. Complies with all safety regulations and work rules including proper use of PPE. Performs general housekeeping in working area. Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager. Job Requirements/Basic Qualifications:Training and experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, machining, plumbing, fabrication/welding and cutting. Industrial electrical experience - 24V to 480V, 3 phase. HMI and PLC troubleshooting, programming, or repair experience. 4+ years' experience. Knowledgeable in building and mechanical trades. Highly motivated and able to work independently. Strong mechanical aptitude. Capable of changing seals, bearings, and extruder screws. Strong organizational, problem solving and follow-up skills. Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (Safety, OSHA). Experience with Lock out Tag out and related safety principles. Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Work Environment:Work involves standing, lifting heavy objects, and sometimes climbing or maneuvering around large machines. Exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment. Outside weather elements year around. Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, climb, and lift heavy objects for extended periods and be capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. Work Schedule:Base Schedule is Monday to Friday. Weekend overtime as needed and scheduled.
