Job Title: Level 3 CNC Machinist Job DescriptionThis position involves operating Mill, HTL, or VTL machines with a precision requirement of +/- .003 tolerance. The role requires proficiency in working with aerospace alloys and familiarity with FANUC controls. The candidate must adhere to safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment interaction, and comply with quality standards such as AS9100 and the company's quality and safety rules.Responsibilities Execute production schedule efficiently. Ensure availability of materials and supplies for production needs. Complete orders that meet quality standards within required timelines. Ensure machines are operating efficiently and effectively. Monitor operators to ensure adherence to work instructions and processes. Provide daily updates through PCC03 or other tools. Submit work orders to maintenance for equipment issues. Implement process improvements as needed. Participate in company meetings. Read and comply with work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists. Accurately enter production information into the ERP system. Record and report hours worked correctly. Complete Production Incident Reports for all red tags promptly. Perform all other work duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to operate 3-5 axis CNC machines and lathes with minimal assistance. Experience in machining aerospace parts with advanced cross-training flexibility. Proficiency in performing complex setups on 3-5 axis machines. Advanced blueprint and GD&T reading skills for complex production inspection processes. Capability to edit programs and write simple programs for tooling. Troubleshooting skills for complex parts. Typically requires 4-6 years of experience. Proficiency in blueprint reading, changeovers, and lathe operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with supervisors and employees. Mathematical skills including calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle concrete variables in less standardized situations. Familiarity with machine shop tools and equipment such as drill presses, tool grinders, power saws, belt sanders, and measuring tools. Enjoy low-cost health insurance for greater take-home pay.Work EnvironmentThe position begins with training on the 1st shift (8am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday) and then transitions to either the 2nd shift (12:15pm - 8:45pm, Monday to Friday) or the 3rd shift (8:15pm - 4:45am, Monday to Friday). Work is conducted in a shop and production floor environment with exposure to moderate noise, occasional mist, airborne particles, and other elements typical of a manufacturing setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel toes, ear plugs, and safety glasses are required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
