HR Generalist Flightwave - Torrance, CA 90503 Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary Position Summary The HR Generalist serves as a key contributor to the overall success of human resources operations, with responsibilities spanning employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits support, compliance and HR systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who is ready to take on a broader scope of responsibility and provide direct support to both employees and management. The HR Generalist will work independently while representing the HR department at the FlightWave (FW) facility, serving as a primary point of contact for HR related matters and ensuring HR policies, programs, and practices are effectively implemented and supported on site. This position is in-person, based at the FlightWave facility in Torrance, California. Essential Duties and Responsibilities General HR Operations Leads onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience aligned with company culture and California compliance standards. Respond to and resolve employee inquiries across HR functions, providing guidance and escalating complex matters to HR leadership as appropriate. Maintain and optimize personnel files and records within HRIS (Paycom) and file management systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Contribute to the development and delivery of employee communications related to HR programs, policies, and procedures. Support the design and rollout of internal HR projects, including employee engagement, performance management, and employees' initiatives. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles, including coordinating job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and advancing qualified candidates through the hiring process. Partner with hiring managers to review candidate pipelines, provide status updates on open positions, and align on hiring needs and selection decisions. Conduct pre-employment activities for open roles, including interviews, background checks, and preparation of new hire documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth new hire experience, including first-day orientation and initial training logistics. Benefits Administration Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to support enrollments, qualifying events, and general inquiries. Employee Relations & Compliance Provide day-to-day employee relations support to employees and managers by addressing workplace concerns, providing guidance on company policies, and promoting a respectful and positive work environment through timely and professional communication. Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, helping resolve issues related to performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace expectations. Maintain awareness of and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR practices and documentation align with legal and company requirements. Assist in managing employee relations matters, including conducting or supporting internal investigations, documenting findings, and coordinating appropriate follow-up actions in collaboration with HR leadership. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and assist with required reporting, audits, and documentation to ensure organizational compliance and operational transparency. HR Systems & Reporting Maintain employee data and reporting within HRIS systems. Support the management of the Learning Management System (LMS) in Paycom, including assisting with training assignments, tracking completion, and ensuring accurate system records, as needed. Support HR metrics reporting and data analytics to inform strategic HR planning. Prepare ad hoc reports and documentation for audits, compliance, and leadership requests. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience considered. 35 years of experience in HR administration, recruiting, or generalist-level support. Strong working knowledge of California employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements, leave laws, employee classification, and workplace compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge in day-to-day HR practices and advise managers accordingly. Working knowledge of HR laws and practices, including talent acquisition processes and employee benefits programs. Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Paycom), Microsoft Office Suite, and cloud-based document management (e.g., Dropbox, DocuSign). Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to work with discretion and professionalism across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and data accuracy Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous improvement Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Capacity to lift and carry files or boxes up to 15 lbs. Manual dexterity for data entry, filing, and documentation tasks. Effective communication across phone, email, and in-person interactions. Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including some evenings or weekends, as needed for key HR priorities. Background Check: This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
