Find your future with us.BCA (Boeing Commercial Airplanes) is looking for a Structural & Payload Design Engineer (Level 4 & Level 5) as Deputy Airplane Leader to join and support the Seats Integration Team (SIT) in Everett or Renton, WA. In this position you will lead cross-functional, teaming activities acrossdisciplines and product support elements.Projects range from, but are not limited to the following areas Project Management, Boeing Problem Solving Model, Analytics, Communication/Media, Onboarding, Training and Development, Practice Space, Safety Management System, and Knowledge Management.This position requires integration across the engineering disciplines as well as significant integration with Seat suppliers, Airlines, Regulatory agencies, BGS, and BCA.This is an exciting opportunity to join a team early in its lifecycle and set the course.Position Responsibilities:Performs project engineering for a variety seat projects and supplier actions, act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the organization in the areas of seat design, certification, and installationCommunicates project status to various Boeing teams (ie. program executive leadership, program Project Integration Managers (PIMs), Supply Chain leadership, factory, and flight line operations) and seat suppliers and airline customersProvides Engineering leadership to a Seats Integration team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal payloads, wire design, wire installation, seats electrical, stress, certification, flammability, and software and external resources which may include seat suppliers & sub-suppliers, regulatory agencies, and our airline customersResponds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedulesLeads project execution to complete engineering work statementIdentifies and reports project technical performance metrics to seats leadership, engineering leadership, and program leadership. Works with executives to implement improvementsPerforms technical Integration of multiple engineering disciplines on highly complex projectsPlans, identifies, and coordinates engineering resources required over the life of the project or programIdentifies program level seat risk and works with the program to implement risk mitigation strategiesCompares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learnedProvides integration leadership for the implementation and execution of seat projectsProvides seat program status and guidance to Boeing Executives, Supplier Leadership and airline customersWorks under consultative direction Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) 9+ years of experience working with or equivalent industry experience Preferred Qualifications 14+ years of experience working with or equivalent industry experience Knowledge of payloads engineering releases and configuration management processes Ability to travel (10-20 percent) International and Domestic Experience in implementing and sustaining project management best practices Possess strong attention to detail and effective collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal, within the team and externally Experience in Certification Plan Authoring Experience in CATIA, ENOVIA, IVT, DCCS, and REDARS Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and EASA equivalent Experience in reviewing technical documents FAA DER Interior Arrangements Conflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Union:This is a union represented positionDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies .
