Human Resources Generalist The Human Resources Generalist is both a hands-on and strategic team member who will provide expertise in the areas of employee relations, coaching/development, conflict management, organizational development, talent acquisition and more. Works closely with their assigned leadership teams and all employees on people related issues. The Human Resources Generalist will be instrumental in helping drive HR programs/initiatives that add value to the organization and are aligned with business objectives. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Field Human Resources Director. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Provides day to day support to assigned groups including Group Vice President, Field Operation Leaders as well as both union and non-union hourly employees across multiple locations within an assigned territory/geography. Acts as first line resource to managers and hourly employees on human resources issues and partners with them to implement solutions. Responsible for employee relations activities, investigations, complaint resolution, employee advocacy, monitoring, reporting and analytics to drive organizational performance. Partners with leaders on talent acquisition strategies, performance management, development, succession and compensation planning. Partners with leadership teams to continually evaluate and develop all employees within the organization. This would include career planning and skill development. Ensures compliance and consistency to HR practices, policies, and adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations both as a consultant and oversight to all location teammates within assigned territory/geography. This includes ADA accommodation requests, leave of absence review, worker's comp restriction review. Leads value-added initiatives and projects for Vestis including policy development and roll-out to assigned business partners. Provides guidance and direction to leadership team and employees on HR related topics, strategies, and initiatives. Conducts research and analysis on assigned HR projects. Other projects and duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills required. Ability to diplomatically and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable State and Federal employment laws and general business practices required. Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills. Solid written and verbal communication skills a must, including the ability to interface with others inside and outside of the company in a positive and professional manner. Must be able to work independently with the ability to juggle priorities and manage time to effectively meet deadlines. Experience working with a unionized environment. Highest professional standards regarding internal customer service, confidentiality and ethical conduct required. Strong computer skills required: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams. Experience/Qualifications: Two to Five years professional level Human Resources experience is required, including at least one year in a Business Partner capacity supporting multiple groups, consisting of both union and non-union teammates, across multiple locations. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience. License Requirements/Certifications: A PHR/SPHR certification preferred. Valid Driver's License required. Working Environment/Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements: Remote work from home office within assigned geographic location. May be local or overnight travel within the United States.
