Job Title The primary job function is the inspection of contractual maintenance services to validate and document contractor services are in compliance with the performance standards as established in the contract. Prepares and maintains inspections documentation for daily inspection activities. Documents and reports vendor performance utilizing a work management system and advises vendor of deficiencies in quality of work with recommendations for corrective actions. Assists with verification that payment requests match work that has been satisfactorily completed in a billing period. Monitors safety requirements; makes recommendations for corrective actions. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with vendors and internal/external customers. Meets with customers and contractors to clarify and resolve work related challenges and requests. Attends and participates in weekly/bi-weekly progress meetings with vendors. Provides assistance in maintaining accurate asset inventory and mapping databases Provides research and reporting activities for clarity, quality, and thoroughness for limits of work operations. Miscellaneous duties may include the following. Assist with field asset data collection initiatives. Performs various maintenance tasks including but not limited to: Team participation in developing contract documents and maintenance of accurate asset inventories. Provides input and feedback on contract development initiatives. Line-of-sight and overgrowth clearance. String trimmer, edger and chainsaw for vegetation maintenance. Tree and shrub trimming. Assist with tree and/or shrub plantings in beds or open areas. Citizen roadside assistance. Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or its equivalent, and three (3) or more years of experience in construction/maintenance, contract applicable construction trades, or in a field providing technical/supervisory services to construction/maintenance contractors. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications: ISA Certified Arborist and IPM License preferred. Job Competencies: Knowledge of arboriculture, landscaping and irrigation best practices and tools and equipment required for the completion of landscape and irrigation work. Knowledge of building construction trades, methods, codes, regulatory requirements (ex: DEP issues relating to coastal and inland requirements), practices, tools and equipment: knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Proficient in the use of tools, equipment and materials (ex: chainsaw, winch, chipper, stump grinder and bucket truck). Ability to read and follow diagrams, blueprints, plans and written instructions. Knowledge of ADA requirements as they relate to public facilities and parks. Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment and tools needed to perform the required tasks of this position. Ability to represent the County to the public in a courteous manner and to maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
