URGENT HIRING FOR Leadership: Medical Director of Correctional Health Job Location: Dallas, TX Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Pay: $100/hr - $110/hr Requirement: Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for appropriate specialty. [REQUIRED] Must have 5 years management experience in clinical medical programs [REQUIRED] Preferred experience in a correctional health environment [Preferred] Job Description: WILL CONSIDER ALL REASONABLE WEEKLY/HOURLY BILL RATES IF YOUR CANDIDATE MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS Responsible for supporting, facilitating and participating in clinical and administrative activities, which will enhance the attainment of Correctional Health clinical goals and objectives. Provides medical expertise, administrative, medical and nursing support as well as professional liaison functions which enhance high quality, timely and safe patient centered, patient valued services, best practice and compliance. Responsibilities 1. Responsible for the direction and coordination of all medical services for Correctional Health Services. Collaborates with Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services – Correctional Health to deliver effective and integrated care for the population. 2. As assigned, provides quality management of patients accessing women’s health and adult health. Uses written medical protocols efficiently, identifies quality care issues, and initiates problem solving and innovation. Modifies approach, communication and interaction to take account of sensory impairments and specific needs of all customers, in particular older adults. 3. Maintains a positive working relationship with Sherriff’s Department, Parkland management, vendors, other hospitals, employees, patients, and patient’s families ensuring effective departmental operations and patient centered/patient valued health care services. 4. Provides input into developing, monitoring and revising annual goals and objectives for Correctional Services that support the mission and objectives of Parkland. 5. Selects, trains, motivates, supervises, and evaluates provider/physician staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to both internal andexternal customers. Serves as supervising physician/delegating prescriptive authority for advanced practice providers. Acts as a consultant for nursing leadership. Provides and evaluates medical education and training for residents, students, and advanced practice providers, ensuring optimal level of training which meets the teaching resident guidelines for treating, diagnosing, and providing medical services. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge. 6. Serves as a liaison between the jail physicians and medical directors of Parkland’s Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) system, Homeless Outreach Medical Services (HOMES) program, specialty clinics, emergency room and inpatient services. 7. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact Correctional Health. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Assists in the development and implementation of all medical related procedures for clinical staff. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding. 8. Assists with the development and implementation of the Correctional Health orientation program, health education program, and health promotion program. 9. Oversees the work of the Associate Director of Performance Improvement, who coordinates the Correctional Health quality management program. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, etc., for Correctional Health and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Parkland. 10. Assists with the coordination of physician recruitment and leads retention activities for Correctional Health providers. 11. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of medicine byattending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and maintaining physician licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 12. Models collaborative, respectful, excellent physician practice including providing an exceptional patient experience and making human connections including being mindful of patients, creating an atmosphere of respect and courtesy, listening and responding to patient concerns and providing clear explanations of care delivery and care planning, all reinforced through standardized approaches. 13. Works across disciplines to form cohesive teams, and acts as a prominent, engaged team member to achieve goals set by Parkland senior leadership.
